Foal play: Gardai warn owner of horse found in Kilkenny ‘will have a case to answer’
Gardai from Kilkenny have found a new home for this foal after it was found in poor health in the city.
Members of Unit C took the animal into their custody under animal welfare legisltation and vowed not to return him to his previous owner if they manage to identify them.
And they warned the owner “will have a case to answer” if they track them down.
A local Garda spokesperson wrote on social media: “Gardaí from Unit C Kilkenny made a new friend today who hopefully has a happier life ahead of it than behind it. This poor foal was seized under the 2013 Animal Health and Welfare Act. He is being checked for chip as we speak but will NOT be returned if an owner is identified.
“Thankfully we are being assisted by an animal welfare charity who will ensure a good forever home. If identified, the owner will have a case to answer.”
