Reports earlier revealed no fewer than 29 workers at a mushroom plant in neighbouring county Tipperary have tested positive for the virus.
Walsh Mushrooms employs 170 people at its plant outside the village of Golden.
One employee tested positive for Covid-19 last week, after which further testing was carried out. As a result, a total of 28 more workers at the facililty have tested positive since Friday.
The news has caused a lot of concern in the area. However, local Fine Gael Senator Garret Ahern told RTÉ News it is hoped the outbreak has been contained within the plant.
