Terrifying M9 crash causes motorway closure in Kilkenny

A SERIOUS crash on the M9 motorway in Kilkenny is causing chaos for commuters this morning.
The M9 southbound is now closed from Junction 11, Mullinavat to the end of the motorway at Grannagh following the serious crash. Huge tailbacks are being reported.
In the single-vehicle accident, a car veered off the motorway shortly after 8am and collided with the barrier in the central reserve, before coming to rest in the middle of the two lanes.
Gardai have now fully closed off the southbound motorway and are directing people to exit at Junction 11, Mullinavat and continue to Waterford via the R448, the old Waterford Road.
Huge tailbacks are being reported at junction 11 going onto the R448.
Emergency services are at the scene, and it is understood no one was seriously injured in the accident.
