WATCH: Kilkenny gardai and Amber Women’s Refuge step up for new Jerusalema dance challenge

Kilkenny gardai have dusted off their dancing shoes and joined with members of the Amber Women’s Refuge to create a special  ‘Jerusalema Challenge’ video for Go Purple Day.

Go Purple Day is a national day of fundraising and awareness for local domestic violence services.

The video features members from Kilkenny Garda Station and staff and volunteers from the Amber Women’s Refugewho took part in the dance challenge, which has become a global phenonemon. 

The video was shot in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle and finishes off with a beautiful shot of Kilkenny Garda Station aglow in purple as it shows its support for Go Purple Day.


A local Garda spokesperson said: “
What better day than Go Purple Day for Amber Women’s Refuge Kilkenny with some willing Garda dancers to answer the Jerusalema Challenge.

“Great work and for all of us who took part a really enjoyable experience.  Amber Women’s Refuge is a local non Statutory Organisation that assists Women and their dependants fleeing Domestic Violence. Thank you for everything you do,” the spokesperson added.
