WEEKEND WEATHER: Hot, hot, hot! Kilkenny to sizzle in sun as temperatures soar to 27C
Kilkenny is set to sizzle in the sun this weekend with temperatures soaring to a sizzling 27 degrees.
Met Eireann said a mostly cloudy start to this morning will quickly burn off to leave good sunny spells,the best of which will be in Kilkenny and the south east, with the mercury rising to up to 25 degrees.
Both tomorrow and Sunday will be dry and very hot, with with long spells of sunshine and light breezes and daytime temperatures reaching to between 23 to 27 degrees, although it will be cooler along the coast as sea breezes develop.
Monday will be another dry, sunny and very warm day, with temperatures reaching 23 to 27 degrees. The national forecaster said: “Again, it will be slightly cooler near coasts due to a sea breeze. Otherwise, winds will be light and variable. It will stay dry through Monday night, but some mist and fog patches will form. Temperatures on Monday night not falling below 11 to 15 degrees.”
Met Éireann said there is still “some uncertainty in the forecast from Tuesday”, but it looks like the majority of the country will see another dry, sunny and very warm day on with maximum temperatures rising to between 22 to 27 degrees.
There is uncertainty in the forecast from midweek next week, but current indications suggest “high pressure will remain the dominant driver of our weather”, according to Met Éireann. “This will keep conditions mainly dry, bright and warm, though there is the chance of occasional showers,” the forecaster added.
