Man brutally assaulted in his car after he stopped to ask for directions in Kilkenny

A VISITOR to Kilkenny who got lost driving in the city was viciously assaulted in his car as he asked for directions.

The unprovoked attack occurred at Wetlands on Saturday evening shortly after the man had taken a wrong turn.

He stopped the car to ask for directions. But as he leaned out the window of the car after asking a passer-by advise on directions he was viciously and repeatedly punched in the face.

The victim managed to drive off, but the brutal and unprovoked attack left him with bruising and swelling to his face.

Kilkenny gardai are investigating the assault. They have urged anyone who may have witnessed the attack to contact Kilkenny Garda station on 056 555 7000.
