Gang steal trailer and haul of goods in planned heist at Kilkenny city property

THIEVES went off-road to gain access to a property on the outskirts of Kilkenny city  before making off with a large haul of stolen equipment.

In what appears to have been a well-planned heist, the thieves stole a trailer, two power washers, a hedge trimmer, and a control box, as well as a quantity of diesel from a yard in the Maddockstown area.

The robbery took place between 4.30pm last Saturday and 8am on Monday morning.

A local Garda spokesperson said the culprit would have had to cross a field to gain entry to the yard.
