Cath-burglar: Gang stealing engine parts from parked cars in rural Kilkenny
Gardai are on the hunt for a gang who are roaming around Kilkenny and stole engine parts from cars parked in public spaces.
The thieves took catalytic converters from three cars parked in the centre of three Kilkenny towns and villages over the course of one day last week.
The first catalytic converter was taken from a Silver Nissan Micra parked on the Main Street in Goresbridge in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The gang then targeted a black Honda Civic parked on the roadside at in Chatsworth, near Clogh again in the early hours of Thursday, January 23.
They then removed the cat converter from a blue Mitsubishi Colt that was parked up in the square in Castlecomer. Sometime between 5pm on Thursday 23 and 11am on Friday 24 the brazen thieves got under the bonnet in the middle of the town and took the engine part.
Anyone who noticed any suspicious vehicles, persons or activity in and around the areas mentioned last Thursday is asked to contact Castlecomer Garda Station on 056 444 1222.
