Three dead as gunman opens fire on Christmas market
A GUNMAN opened fire on a Christmas market in the French city of Strasbourg, killing three people and injuring a further 11.
Police confirmed tonight that the gunman is known to the authorities for criminal activity.
Strasbourg authorities are advising local residents to stay inside.
The European Parliament in Strasbourg has been shut down and staff have been ordered to remain inside, the APF agency has reported.
