10-year-old local boy remains in critical condition following collision, gardai renew appeal for information
A young boy remains in critical condition after he was seriously injured during a collision between his bicycle and a jeep in Borris in neighbouring county Carlow.
It is understood the 10-year-old is understood to have been cycling with a group of friends when the collision occurred in the Ballymartin area on the Borris to Fenagh road at around 1.30pm yesterday.
Emergency services including gardai from Borris, Graiguenamanagh and Thomastown along with an ambulance from Kilkenny attended the scene.
The boy has been airlifted to Temple Street hospital in Dublin for urgent treatment where he is described to be in a “critical condition”.
Gardai last night renewed a public appeal for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact the.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a jeep that occurred in the Ballymartin area of Borris, Co. Carlow, on 25/06/2020 at approximately 1:30pm.
“Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information, particularly any road users who may have dash cam footage, to contact them at Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 6620 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
