LATEST: Three more deaths and 324 new cases of virus, Donegal to go under lockdown at midnight
A further three people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 324 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.
It brings the overall death toll as a result fo the virus to 1,797. There are now 33,994 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The latest breakdown of cases is as follows: 167 cases are in Dublin, 42 in Donegal, 34 in Cork, 13 in Monahan, 12 in Kildare, 8 in Cavan, 6 in Limerick, 6 in Meath, 6 in Roscommon and 5 in Wicklow, with the remaining 25 cases in 11 counties.
The latest cases of the virus were confirmed as it was confirmed this evening that Donegal will move to Level 3 restrictions from midnight tonight.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin earlier said there are also concerns about the levels of the virus in large urban areas including Waterford, Cork, Limerick and Galway.
