Festive hampers, handmade gifts and the hidden secrets of movie making at Kilkenny’s Butler Gallery
By Jayde Maher
Budding young local artists will get a chance to brush up on their skills as a special festive workshop for children aged between 5 and 12.
The Butler Gallery’s Christmas art workshops, which take place on Sunday, December 6 and again on December 13, are just one of a series of new festive treats it has in store for visitors in the countdown to the festive period.
The venue has also launched an online shop selling custom prints that can be delivered straight to your door, with prices starting at just €40. The prints include works from artists Tony O’Malley, Jane O’Malley, Mildred Anne Butler and Mainie Jellett.
Meanwhile, fans of animation will get to experience a new exhibition from the multi-award-winning Cartoon Saloon, Wolfwalkers, which runs from January 8 until mid-March 2021. The exhibition follows the critically acclaimed response to Cartoon Saloon’s new movie, which is released on Apple TV on December 11.
Meanwhile, MUSE coffee and food at Butler Gallery have created new food and coffee hampers – all filled with quality local produce – that could make an ideal gift for Christmas.
