You have the right to remain 100! Gardai help Kilkenny woman celebrate special milestone

This special lady had some surprise guests to mark a very special occasion.

Anna Mae Treacy from Clogh, Castlecomer, was visited by two gardai from the local station who dropped in to wish her a very happy 100th birthday.

The picture of Anna Mae with the her surprise guests was a big hit on the Kilkenny-Carlow Garda Facebook page, with many people sending the centenarian their own birthday wishes.

One woman said: “Happy Birthday Anna Mae. Have a great day. By the way you look much younger than you’re age.”

The officers’ colleagues joked they had an ulterior motive for wearing masks in the picture – ‘to cover up evidence of their cake consumption!’
