REST IN PEACE: Kilkenny Death Notices

Breda BUTLER-DAVIS (née Quinn)
Leapstown, Ballyfoyle, Kilkenny/Clonmellon, Westmeath

Butler-Davis (nee Quinn) (Leapstown, Ballyfoyle, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Clonmellon, Co. Westmeath), 31st December 2020, peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital, Breda, beloved wife of Ron and much loved mother of Leanne and Gregory, sadly missed by her loving family, sisters Geraldine, Patsy and Ivy, brothers Fergus and Raymond, grandchildren Olivia, Oscar, Alexandra and Isabella, extended family, neighbours and friends.

In accordance with current Government/H.S.E. guidelines and in the interest of Public Health and the safety of our most vulnerable, a private family funeral will take place for Breda, with Requiem Mass celebrated on Saturday 2nd January, at 11am in St. Joseph’s Church, Ballyfoyle (max of 10 in Church). Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Madge GAVIN (née Connolly)
Fintona, Tyrone/Monaghan Town, Monaghan/Graiguenamanagh, Kilkenny/Laghey, Donegal

Gavin, Madge (nee Connolly) Fintona died peacefully at home on Thursday, 31st December, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Tom. Devoted mother to Marian Mullin, Geraldine McCarney, Tom, Liam, Martina Foy, Genevieve and Dermot. Sister to Anna Fee and the late Pat, Maureen, Petie, Bernard, Helen, Johnny, Bridget and Eugene. Sister-in-law to Marie and Maureen.

Madge will be reposing in her late residence 107 Corbally Road, Stranisk, Fintona, BT78 2PB from 8pm on Thursday, 31st December. In light of the Coronavirus and in the interests of health and safety within the community, the house will be strictly private and the funeral service will be for family only. Madge will leave her late residence at 10.15 am on Saturday, 2nd January, for 11.00 am requiem mass in St Lawrence’s Church Fintona followed by her burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu to Marie Curie c/o McAtee Funeral Directors. For those who wish to show a presence along the funeral route, Madge will travel along the Corbally Road, Tattymoyle Road and Lisdergan Road to arrive at 11am.

Deeply regretted by her loving daughters, sons, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, in-laws and entire family circle.

Wellington Square, Kilkenny City

Seán Kenny (Wellington Square, Kilkenny) December 31st 2020 (peacefully) at St. Luke’s Hospital. Beloved husband of Ann and much loved father of Anne-Marie, Cathy, Bob, Fintan and Colette. He will be deeply missed by his wife and family, his ten grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Due to Government and H.S.E guidelines regarding public gatherings a private family Funeral for Seán will take place. For those who would have liked to attend but due to restrictions cannot, Seán’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on Saturday January 2nd 2021 at 12noon on the following link:

Lanigan (McDonagh Junction and formerly of Ossory Park and Larchfield, Kilkenny) 30th December 2020, unexpectedly, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Gerard (Ferret), beloved father of Ger, Andrea and Shane, sadly missed by his loving children and their mother Martina (Barry), brothers Michael and Dinny, sisters Nell, Philomena, Marie and Trish, son-in-law Gordon, grandchildren Dylan, Patrick, Cameron and Gordy, father-in-law Josie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

In accordance with current Government/H.S.E. guidelines and in the interest of Public Health and the safety of our most vulnerable, a private family funeral will take place for Gerard, with Requiem Mass celebrated on Saturday (2nd January) at 10.30am in St. John’s Church, Kilkenny (max of 10 in church). Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran’s Cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his loving sister Mary, nephew Seamus, relatives and friends.
