LATEST: Kilkenny among 624 new cases of virus as two further deaths confirmed

Two further people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 624 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 4,653. There has been a total of 233,937 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 308 are in Dublin, 41 in Kildare, 38 in Donegal, 31 in Meath, 29 in Offaly with the remaining 177 cases are spread across 18 other counties. Less than five new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in Kilkenny.
