‘The brightest star in the sky’ – moving tributes paid to tragic Kilkenny schoolgirl
Moving tibrutes have been paid to a local Leaving Certificate student who died “unexpectedly” over the weekend.
Lucy Doyle passed away at St Luke’s General Hospital on Saturday.
In a statement on social media, Presentation Secondary School said Lucy’s “smile and charisma will be sorely missed”.
A spokesperson wrote on Facebook: “It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the death of our much loved 6th year student, Lucy Doyle.
“Lucy’s warm smile and charisma will be sorely missed by all in our school community. Our heartfelt sympathies are with the Doyle family and Lucy’s friends and teachers at this very difficult time.
“May her gentle soul Rest in PeaceAr dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.”
Several people took to social media over the past 24 hours to pay their own personal tributes to the schoolgirl and send their condolences to Lucy’s devastated family.
One person commented: “There are just no words. Very fond memories of Lucy. May she rest in peace.”
Another tribute read: “Rest easy lu we miss you all so so much you light up the room with that amazing smile and laugh you truly are the brightest star in the sky.”
