Not an iPhone X! Conmen dupe woman into buying bag of sugar for €200
KILKENNY gardai have urged members of the public to beware of rogue traders in the city-centre after a woman was duped into buying a bag of sugar for €200.
The woman was approached by two males as she was walking down a street in Kilkenny city-centre last Saturday who asked her if she wanted to buy an iPhone X for €200. The phones usually retail for over €1,100.
One of the men showed her a phone and she then gave them the cash. The conmen handed her a bag in return before walking away.
The woman later soon discovered she had been sold a pup, or – more specifically – a bag of sugar.
