A cut above: Hairdressers and sport to return early as Phase Three sees easing of lockdown accelerated
Hairdressers and barbers, and all sports will return early on June 29, the Taoiseach announced this evening.
While, sports have been given the goahead to resume it will be up to individual organisations to decide how best to proceed.
“We can accelerate the reopening of our society and economy with most things in roadmap now being moved to Phase 3 on June 29,” Leo Varadkar said.
From June 29, 50 people will be allowed attend events in enclosed spaces which will see cinemas, smaller theatres and other cultural outlets reopen, as well as churches.
Gyms and swimming pools can reopen if they limit numbers and adopt a strict hygiene policy.
Groups of 200 people will be permitted outdoors if social distancing rules will apply while 100 people will be allowed attend weddings, funerals and other indoor gatherings from July 20.
