ALERT: Garda warning after spate of break-ins at sheds and garages across Kilkenny

KILKENNY gardai have issued a public warning following a spate of break-ins at sheds and garages across the county in recent days.

Bicycles, gardening equipment and tools have all been reported stolen in separate burglaries.

Local Crime Prevention Officer, Sgt Peter McConnon, said: “Please make sure your garden shed and garage is properly secured and locked at all times. All property should be properly stored away. Bicycles should be locked and secured to solid structures. Property should be photographed and marked so as to be identifiable.”

Sgt McConnon also recommended homeowners consider GPS trackers “for larger equipment” and said house alarms should be extended to the shed or garage.
