All-Star Eoin Murphy thanks Kilkenny teammates for helping him ‘through the tough times’
KILKENNY Senior All-Star goalkeeper Eoin Murphy has praised his teammates for pushing him to go the extra mile in training, particularly during the dark winter months.
Speaking after the Amanda Stapleton hurling benefit game in Borrisoleigh last weekend, Eoin said winning an All-Star was a proud moment for himself personally. But he said he wished some of his fellow Kilkenny players could had been up on the podium with him.
“Yeah, [it was a] proud moment for me alright yeah. I suppose from a personal point of view obviously you would like if there was a few more of your teammates there on the team as well,” he said.
“Next year is another year and I’m immensely proud I suppose more for the players as well like because they are the ones you rely on through the tough times, your hard slog during the winter where people mightn’t notice like in a way like when you see the games in the Championship and stuff like that during the height of the summer.”
