Burglars batter front door of Kilkenny house in bid to force their way into property

Burglars cuased substantial damage to the front door of a county Kilkenny home as they tried to gain entry to the property.

The attempted break-in occurred at a house in Knocknew, Ballyfoyle, sometime between 9.40am and 9.15pm on Friday.

A local Garda spokesperson confirmed: “A substantial amount of damage was done to the front door of the house in an attempt to gain entry, however no entry was gained.”

Gardai have urged eyewitnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
