Burlgar stole Kilkenny homeowner’s purse and jewellery as she helped stranger look for dog

A county Kilkenny woman’s home was burgled as she helped a stranger to look for her dog.

Gardai are investigating the burglary, which occurred at a house in the Fairview area of Graiguenamanagh on Saturday.

The victim answered a call to her backdoor to find a woman outside who said she was looking for her dog and asked for the homeowner’s help.

The homeowner obliged, and helped the woman to look for her dog for a few minutes. But after she returned inside she discovered her purse and a number of items of jewellery were missing.
