Dangerous driver stopped at Kilkenny villeage with bald tyres and no tax for over four years

A motorist was caught driving dangerously in a car with bald tyres that hasn’t been taxed for more than four years.

It also emerged the car, which was stopped by gardai in Mooncoin on Thursday, was fuelled by illegal green diesel.

Gardai seized the vehicle, which had last been taxed in March 2017.

A local Garda spokesperson confirmed: “A full house really, last taxed in 2017, dangerously defective with bald tyres and also our colleagues in Customs found green diesel in the tank. Always think Road Safety.”
