Chief Superintendent of Kilkenny Garda division to step down next month
Kilkenny’s Chief Superintendent is to step down from his role next month as part of the biggest restructure of senior officers in the force in the history of the state.
Chief Superintendent Dominic Hayes is set to retire from the force after spending the last five years heading up the Carlow / Kilkenny Garda Division.
He is one of 36 senior gardaí leaving the force in a one-off Government severance scheme with an estimated cost of €6.5 million.
He is one of eight Chief Superintendents leaving, along with 26 Superintendents, and Assistant Commissioner and a senior civilian.
