Kilkenny Christmas shopping alert: €18,000 of fake designer goods seized in raid

Shoppers are being urged to beware after €18,000 worth of fake designer goods were discovered in a raid near the Waterford-Kilkenny border.

The goods were seized during a planned Garda operation targeting a house in the Mountain View area of Carrick-on-Suir at 6pm yesterday.

Suspected counterfeit footwear, clothing, handbags and cosmetics worth around €18,000, including copies of well-known brands such as Nike, Adidas, Ted Baker, North Face and Hugo Boss, were found.

No arrests have yet been made, however gardaí say they are following “a definite line of enquiry”.
