Council gives green light for giant 100ft telecoms tower in county Kilkenny
The local authority has granted approval for a giant 100ft telecommunications mast planned for Coillte-owned land in county Kilkenny.
Kilkenny County Council has given the green light for Cignal Infrastructure Ltd application to erect a new 30-metre telecommunications structure at Knockadrina, between Knocktopher and Stoneyford.
The new 100ft plus multi-user lattice telecommunications support structure, carrying antenna and dishes, will replace the existing 25 metre structure already erected on the site.
Cignal Infrastructure have also been granted permission to expand the compound, which will be enclosed by a 2.4 metre high palisade fence, along with “associated ground equipment cabinets and associated site works”.
The company also recently lodged applications for another two communications towers of similar height at sites near Windgap and close to Hugginstown.
