BREAKING: County Kilkenny road closed following serious crash this morning

Gardai and emergency services have rushed to the scene of a serious crash in county Kilkenny this morning.

The incident happened on the Carrick-on-Suir to Kilmoganny (R697) shortly before 9am this morning.

It is understood the road in closed and traffic is being diverted.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 40s remains in a critical condition in St Luke’s Hospital following a crash in County Kilkenny yesterday morning.

Gardaí were called to the scene of the accident at 7am on the N77 just north of Kilkenny City, at Dooley’s Garage, near Ballyragget.

The road was partially closed between Ballyragget and Jenkinstown and traffic was being diverted following the incident.

In a separate incident yesterday evening, three cars were involved in a crash on the Freshford to Johnstown Road at Woodsgift at around 5.15pm.

A jeep pulling a small trailer pulled and two cars were involved in the incident. No one was seriously injured.
