Driver stopped at checkpoint in Kilkenny with no licence or insurance has car seized

A  driver who never held a licence and had no insurance had their car seized after it was stopped at a Garda checkpoint in Kilkenny city.

Gardai confirmed the motorist will appear in court changed with motoring offences after they stopped on the Ring Road on Friday night.

A local Garda spokesperson said: “This driver in Kilkenny will be appearing in court in 2022, after our Roads Policing Unit stopped this vehicle at a MIT checkpoint on the Ring Road tonight. The driver never held a driving licence and had no insurance.”
