Savour Kilkenny unveil mouth-watering festival programme

OVER 40,000 people are expected to taste the atmosphere at one of Ireland’s largest and most popular food festivals in Kilkenny next month.
Now in its 13th year, Savour Kilkenny’s jam-packed programme was officially launched over the weekend.
At the launch, host Newstalk presenter, Kieran Cuddihy and guest speaker Fiona Moore of Failte Ireland’s Taste the Island campaign addressed a packed audience at Sullivan’s Tap Room in Kilkenny and unveiled the programme of events.
Some of the world’s leading culinary experts and artisans will grace the city for the week of Savour Kilkenny, which runs from October 22 to October 28.
Clodagh McKenna will make her debut at Savour Kilkenny and will be joined by Edward Hayden and Anne Neary, Irish stars Paul Flynn, Catherine Fulvio, Rory O’ Connell and Mount Juliet’s Ken Harker and John Kelly. Best-selling Australian author and national TV star, Kim McCosker will also bring her 4 Ingredients thinking to the Savour Stage.
Commenting on the 2019 programme, Marian Flannery, Festival Director, Savour Kilkenny said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming such a wide range of culinary talent to Kilkenny for this year’s festival. As well as cookery demonstrations, workshops, expert talks and advice, visitors can expect special food events in local hotels, restaurants and eateries as well as a great selection of food and drinks stalls on The Parade.
Some innovative events are taking place in conjunction with the festival, such as a fitness bootcamp with Kathryn Thomas in Kilkenny Castle, Organic Wines Talk and Tasting with Owen Murphy from Wines Direct, Brian O’Toole’s Introduction to Beekeeping, Tom Coleman’s Overcoming Sleeping Problems and a workshop on essential oils with Sharon Hearne Smith.
