Garda arrested on corruption charges due to appear in court
A MEMBER of An Garda Síochána is due to appear in court this afternoon on corruption charges.
The officer was arrested this morning as part of an investigation into alleged corruption involving gardaí. A second man was also arrested.
The arrests and charges are in relation to an investigation by Special Crime Operations into alleged wrong-doing or corruption involving Garda personnel in the Southern Region. They were both arrested under the Criminal Justice (Corruption Offences) Act 2018.
They are both due to appear before Limerick District Court.
