Glitter-sliothar: Kilkenny legend overcomes odds to emerge as one of favourites to win Dancing With The Stars
Former Kilkenny hurler Aidan Fogarty is right in the mix to waltz off with the top prize on Dancing With The Stars after bookies slashed the odds on his adding the coveted Glitterball to his impressive All-Ireland medal collection.
Last weekend just two contestants scored higher as Fogarty’s foxtrot to the Oasis hit Half The World Away caught the eye of judges and punters alike.
The eight-time All-Ireland winner went into week three in the middle of the pack at 9/1 to go on and lift theGglitterball trophy, but just two contestants lie ahead of him in the betting after BoyleSports slashed his chances to just 5/1.
Aidan score of 23 points matched that of actor Ryan Andrews, who is clinging on to favouritism at 13/8 ahead of radio presenter Lottie Ryan as the hopefuls prepare their routines for the movie-themed week four.
BoyleSports spokesperson Lawrence Lyons said: “Ryan and Lottie have been fighting it out at the head of the betting since the first week, but Aidan Fogarty is the dark horse who has leapt out of the pack. At 5/1 from 9/1, punters are growing all the more confident that he’ll add a glitterball to his collection of All-Ireland medals.”
Check out Aidan’s performance on week four of Dancing With The Stars, this evening at 6.30pm on RTÉ 1.
