Huge new 30-metre telecommunications tower to be built outside Kilkenny village
The local authority has approved plans to build a massive new 30-metre telecommunications structure in country Kilkenny.
Cignal Infrastructure Ltd was given the green light to proceed with the construction of the multi-user lattice telecommunications support structure, carrying antenna and dishes at Ballydaw, near Listerlin in the south of the county.
The new tower will replace the existing 27.3 metre structure at the site.
Cignal Infrastructure has also been granted permission to expand the compound, which will be enclosed by a 2.4 metre high palisade fence, along with “associated ground equipment cabinets and associated site works”.
