Kilkenny house prices rising at slower rate than other counties in Leinster
Average house prices in Kilkenny have risen by €5,000 to €250,000, according to a new survey carried out by MyHome.ie and Bank of Ireland.
Prices in neighbouring Carlow also rise by 2% over the past year, with the average asking price for a home rising to €255,000.
However, the rate of house price growth was far higher in some other Leinster counties, including Westmeath, up 11% on the same period last year, and Wexford, which experienced a jump of 9%.
Laois saw a 2.4% gain to €215,0000 and Longford 2.8% to €149,000. In Louth, prices were also up 2% to €250,000. In Offaly prices were flat on the year, €230,000 at the median.
The report for the third quarter of 2024 shows the median asking price for a property in the county is now €230,000. This means prices have risen by €30,050 compared with this time last year.
Asking prices for a 3-bed semi-detached house in the county rose by €7,500 over the quarter to €175,000, a rise of €5,000 compared to this time in 2023.
