LATEST: Kilkenny among 1,245 new cases of virus as 45 further deaths confirmed

A further 45 people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 1,254 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed.

The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 3,214. There have now been 193,892 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 437 in Dublin, 146 in Cork, 76 in Meath, 69 in Wexford, 62 in Kildare and the remaining 464 cases are spread across all other counties, including six further infections in Kilkenny.
