LATEST: Less than 1,000 new cases of virus confirmed, 31 deaths reported in last week
A further 1,124 people have contracted the coronavirus, the Department of Health confirmed this evening.
That’s a decrease of 140 on yesterday’s figures.
And the number of patients being treated in hospital for the virus now stands at 343, down six from yesterday.
Of these, 70 are being treated in ICU, six more than yesterday’s numbers.
There has been a total of 5,280 deaths related to COVID-19 notified in Ireland. This includes 31 deaths confirmed in the past week (since last Wednesday).
