Man arrested over horror knife attack on 93-year-old at his home
GARDAI have arrested a man in connection with the horrific knife attack on a 93-year-old man at his home.
The elderly pensions was stabbed three times during an attempted burglary at his home in Blackrock, Co Louth, at around 2.45pm yesterday.
The culprit then fled, leaving the wounded pensioner for dead.
Gardaí this morning confirmed that a man has been arrested in the Dundalk area and is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The victim is currently in a stable condition at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
A Garda spokesman said the victim “sustained a number of apparent stab wounds following an altercation with another man”.
