MARBLE CITY NIGHTS: Sinéad Connolly’s going-out guide to Kilkenny this weekend

JUNE is whizzing by us but at least we’re looking nice and dry for tonight and tomorrow!

Yes, it’s (finally!) that time of year again, so dust of the sunnies and get yourself off to one of Kilkenny’s fantastic beer gardens to get that summer feeling flowing through your veins.

If you are in the mood for something different – and to support a very worthwhile cause, Kilkenny Rose Clodagh Cassin will be hosting a table quiz at Brogan’s Bar on John Street with funds going to help one very special local little boy, Michael Butler, who’s been battling rare and very serious illnesses all his short life. There is a complementary Ballykeefe Gin reception at 7:30pm and the quiz begins at 8pm sharp! Individuals and teams are welcome.

Meanwhile, Kilkenny Brewfest is back for its second year in Sullivan’s Taproom on John Street. Enjoy delicious craft beer, BBQ, pizza, music and the Fever Tree Gin Garden on Friday and Saturday. Entry is free, and food and beer works on a token system.

On Sunday Kyteler’s Inn has Tomas Jackman at 9pm, or you can check out Devil a Bit in Lanigans at 9:30pm.
