‘Masculinity from start to finish’ – Kilkenny’s DWTS stars safely through to another week

Kilkenny’s duo of hot-steppers are safely through to another week on Dancing with the Stars after both avoided the dreaded dance off.

Mary Kennedy and her Kilkenny professional dance partner John Edward Nolan had their “best dance so far,” while Aidan ‘Taggy’ Fogarty’s performance with partner Emily Barker was an “explosion of expression,” according to the DWTS judges.,

It was, however,  adios for B*Witched member Sinéad O’Carroll and her partner Ryan McShane, cruelly booted out after a dance-off with 2FM’s Lottie Ryan and her partner Pasquale La Rocca. The judges felt neither couple should have been in that position.

Ah well, C’est la vie.

Taggy and Emily danced a Pasodoble this week to mixed reactions from the judges, guest judge Darren Bennett from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing loved some aspects and said: “It was an explosion of expression and masculinity from start to finish,” but said the pair’s dancing  was a “little stiff for me.” Mixed sentiments echoed by Lorriane Barry and Brian Redmond.

John Edward Nolan led Mary Kennedy in a Tango this week, a dance which Brian Redmond said was: certainly your best dance so far.”

All the judges seemed taken by  Nolan and Kennedy, Lorraine Barry saying the pair: “Upped the stakes!” while Darren Bennett was extremely complimentary in comparing  the routine to: “A decadent and intimate tea dance.”

Just six couples remaining and Kilkenny’s contestants standing strong.
