Kilkenny hospital rakes in over €450,000 in car park charges despite restrictions
St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny took in more than €450,000 in parking fees in last year despite the many restrictions imposed on the facility as a result of Covid-19 and a flu crisis.
Figures released by the Health Service Executive (HSE) showed St Luke’s took in a total of €450,247 last year.
The car park is run by the Ireland East Hospital Group, which is a part of the HSE, and is not one of the 11 privately run hospital car-parks at Ireland’s public hospitals.
Last year State run hospitals took in more than €12 million in car parking charges. More than €7 million of this total was charged as part of arrangements with private companies.
