Graiguenamanagh’s ‘Town of Books’ – a new chapter opens for festival
By COLIN BARTLEY
A FESTIVAL aimed at breathing life back into a town after its fair share of business closures is ready to open a new chapter this weekend.
The 16th Graiguenamanagh ‘Town of Books’ Festival launches tonight and will run until Sunday evening.
More than 30 independent booksellers have been confirmed for the event, which has grown into a fully-fledged festival featuring art, music, food and crafts.
The festival aims to transform Graiguenamanagh into a book lovers’ paradise where booksellers are matched up with strategically positioned empty spaces in the town where readers can drop in and find new and old books, bargain books and collectibles, as well as children’s and specialist books.
This year’s programme includes author and TV Chef, local man Edward Hayden and Kilkenny author Niamh Boyce.
