No homes to go to – rents in Kilkenny reach another record high
RENTS in Kilkenny have risen by another 5.5%, according to the latest Daft.ie survey.
The increase is largely down to the severe shortage of available properties, particularly in the city.
However, rents are rising fast in the rest of the South East, which experienced an overall increase of 6.8%, according to the latest quarter Rental Report by Daft.ie.
In neighbouring Carlow, tenants are forking out an extra 8.6% in rents.
Overall, average rents monthly rents across the country rose to a new record level during the second quarter of the year, to €1,391 per month.
The increase marks the 13th consecutive quarter of record rents.
