Pitch perfect! Nowlan Park named country’s finest playing surface again
KILKENNY’S Nowlan Park has been named the best GAA pitch in the country for the second year running.
The home of Kilkenny GAA retained its crown at the 2019 National Pitch Awards.
Nowlan Park was followed by Páirc Tailteann in Meath, which was named the second best venue. Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon, McGovern Park in Ruislip, O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny and Pearse Stadium in Galway also received a “highly commended” status.
The adjudication was carried out by Dr Stephen Barker of the Sports Research Institute and Stuart Wilson, Pitch Manager at Croke Park and the NGDC in Abbotstown.
