Heartless thieves break into Kilkenny school and steal safe

A safe in a school in county Kilkenny was taken during a burglary that happened las week.

The shocking theft occurred at Burnchurch National School (below) near Callan, sometime between 4.15pm last Wednesday and 8.30am the following day.

It is understood the burglars forced open the front door of the school to gain entry. They then located and stole the safe.

Gardai in Kilkenny are investigating the theft. They have urged potential eyewitnesses anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact  Callan Garda Station on 056 777 5016.
