Spanish police want to quiz Kilkenny man over murder of drug dealer: report
Gardai are set to question a Kilkenny man as part of the investigation into the murder of a convicted drug dealer in Spain, a report today claims.
Carl Carr (pictured) was brutally beaten to death at an apartment in Alicante before his body was buried in a shallow grave off a roadway in September 2018. Carr’s remains were discovered in January last year.
A number of people have since been arrested in connection with the killing, including the prime suspect, who is also from Kilkenny and was recently released on bail after spending 18 months in prison.
Now Spanish authorities want to speak to a second Kilkenny man who previously lived with the prime suspect and the murder victim in Spain, according to a report in the Sunday World.
The report states police in Spain are investigating the possibility that the second Kilkenny man was present on the night of the murder.
The Sunday World said a Spanish judge recently issued a European Investigation Order, which allows gardai to gather evidence in the case by questioning the suspect in Ireland.
