Teen caught with 15 bags of cocaine during ‘on-the-spot’ Garda search in Kilkenny

A teenager was arrested after he was found in possession of €1,000 of cocaine in Kilkenny.

Members of Unit D of the Kilkenny gardai were patrolling the city centre in early hours of last Sunday morning as part of Operation City-Safe.

They noticed a young male acting suspiciously and performed an on-the-spot search.

The teenager was found to have approximately €1,000 of cocaine divided into 15 bags and substantial amount of cash, suspected to be the proceeds of drugs sales, on him at the time.

He was arrested under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and brought to Kilkenny Garda Station.

The teenager was charged with sale and supply of controlled drugs. He will appear before Kilkenny District Court next month.
