Teen in stolen car arrested after crash chaos on Kilkenny motorway
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of driving a stolen car following a multi-vehicle pile-up on a Kilkenny motorway earlier today
The M8 Motorway Southbound between J4 Urlingford and J5 Thurles was closed following a three-vehicle crash which occurred just before 7am this morning. Emergency services re-opened the section of the motorway this evening. .
Two cars and a truck were involved in the incident. A man in his late teens was rushed to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel. His injuries are said to be serious but not life threatening.
Gardai believe one of the vehicles involved in the crash was stolen from a property in Castletroy, Limerick either late yesterday evening or early this morning.
A male in his late teens was arrested in relation to the theft. He was taken to Thurles Garda Station for questioning.
