UPDATE: No one seriously injured in M9 crash outside Knocktopher

GARDAI have confirmed no-one was seriously injured in last night’s crash on the M9 in South Kilkenny that resulted in a section of the motorway being temporarily closed to traffic.

More than a dozen members of the emergency services were at the scene of the collision last, which occurred a short distance after the Knocktopher turnoff on the motorway.

Two vehicles and a horse box could be seen among the wreckage on the motorway last night.

Gardaí said the collision occurred when a vehicle overturned on the motorway.

The section of the M9 southbound between Knocktopher and Mullinavat has since reopened.
