WATCH: ‘Make Ireland Holy Again’ – skirmishes break out at rally organised by controversial activist
A man was attacked while observing a rally by supporters of controversial activist Gemma O’Doherty in county Waterford last night.
Supporters of journalist and political activist Gemma O’Doherty turned up on the Prom in Tramore to hold a rally. Although small in numbers, the rally was quite visible with large banners and tricolours being held aloft.
Some of the supporters in attendance were brandishing distinctive ‘Make Ireland Holy Again’ red baseball caps, similar to the caps made popular by US President Donald Trump.
Several locals had gathered on the Prom, some to voice their displeasure at the content of the rally, when it appears a verbal row broke out. The incident ended up with a local man being choke-holded to the ground.

The fracas lasted for just over a minute with locals and people there for the rally trying to break up the altercation, before it descended into a bout of shouting.
Neither Ms O’Doherty, nor her ally John Waters, were in attendance last night and no reason was given for their absence. This is despite Ms O’Doherty advertising the Tramore protest on Twitter yesterday evening.
Gardai in Waterford were contacted for comment today.
QÉire says:
Once again the media twist the story to suit they’re MASTERS because the truth is these local thugs had only one intention and that was to cause trouble at a public gathering to distract attention from the truth about the PLANNED GLOBAL scamdemic designed to bring in new draconian laws, destroy the economy and small businesses in order to suit the SATANIC elite and multinational corporations. It’s very clear to see these clowns have serious issues or were told to cause trouble!

Apologies about the typo (their MASTERS)
Annette Curtain says:
Go back to sleep will ya? You’re embarrassing us.
Nickel Prince says:
Absolute morons and dregs of humanity: charges must be pressed immediately against those fascist thugs for attempted murder and the Gardai need to stamp out these vile gatherings.
John says:
Everyone should have the right to freedom of speech, congregation and to protest. I disagree with them but you can’t just have the gardai crack down on people you don’t agree with
Sean says:

Colin Clarke says:
We are supposed to live in a more open society where everyone is entitled to their own opinion and free speech as long as it’s within the law. Violence just proves you have lost the argument.
Brian McNamara says:
How many of these people live within the 20km ?
How many don’t, the person in the red cap who tried to choke that man in the video should face the full vigor of the law. The world knows how dangerous such actions are. Irish law mentions it “to choke” some one is a crime in itself.
Michael McGrath says:
I see that the man in the red cap acted in self defence when his event was attacked by local leftie louts determined to shut him up!
