WEATHER WARNING: Orange alert issued for Kilkenny as Storm Eunice approaches
An orange weather alert has been issued for Kilkenny as Storm Eunice approaches tonight.
The storm warning issued by Met Éireann will take effect at 3am and remains in place until 11am tomorrow.
Four counties – Cork, Kerry, Clare and neighbouring Waterford – have been upgraded to a red storm alert.
The chair of the National Emergency Co-ordination Group, Keith Leonard, today warned Storm Eunice will be a high impact, multi-hazard storm bringing coastal flooding, damaging winds and blizzard conditions.
He said the storm will track across the country from tomorrow morning causing significant disruption with power outages and trees down in many areas.
