WEEKEND WEATHER: ‘A dry and fine spring day with long spells of sunshine’ – Met Éireann

Kilkenny residents can look forward to plenty of dry, settled – and at time sunny – weather over the weekend.

However, Met Éireann has warned another change in conditions is on the way, with wintry showers forecast from Monday.

It said today will begin bright and fresh day, with morning frost clearing to leave some sunny showers and highest temperatures of between 6 to 9 degrees.

Tomorrow is expected to be “a dry and fine spring day with long spells of sunshine”. Met Éireann added: “After a cold and frosty start maximum afternoon temperatures will range between 7 and 10 degrees in moderate northeast winds.”

Met Éireann said “a few showers” will drift in from the east on Sunday, but overall people can expect a good deal of dry weather with some sunny spells. The national forecaster added: “Maximum temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in moderate east or southeast winds. Another cold night on Sunday night with clear spells and just a few showers. Lowest temperatures of zero to +3 degrees with a moderate southeast breeze.”

The weather will take another turn on Monday, which is set to be “a cold and breezy day with lots of cloud and scattered patches of rain or drizzle, chiefly affecting southern and western counties” and maximum temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.

Current indications suggest Tuesday will be a wet and blustery day, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle and highest temperatures again ranging between 6 to 10 degrees.
